Chapter 2 by Patatomante Patatomante

Rules and choosing an adventure:

Tales of the Wars of the Roselias [Patatomante] (Vanilla-ish)

Choices:

1. The World:

Gijinka World - Pokémon are humanoid girls that reproduce by mating with humans or through parthenogenesis.

Gender density: Normal - Humans are divided mostly equally between males and females.

Caste System - This tale will be based on Galar on the medieval ages, similar to how Pokémon Legends is based on the 1800's Japan. Because of this, there's a caste system, not based on Pokémon users being the elite and non-pokémon users having to do what they ask, but instead, the royalty, nobility and to a lower extent military are the elite to the common folk.

Clothing Damage - Due to this story being set around the 1400, many men and pokémon use metal weapons and armour, due to a mix of xenophobia and fear from humans towards pokémon and, put simply, the more violent outlook of the time. Pokémon are more resilient than humans, so they can receive blows from weapons and other pokémon's moves without actually getting wounded, but only thanks to the added defense of the armour. While they could theoretically keep fighting with it broken, it's too dangerous, and most will decide to submit or rout instead of risking to continue fighting.

2. Region:

Galar, around the 1400.

3. Character:

Male.

Fantasy colours (All characters can have unnatural eye and hair colours)

4. Goals:

Destroy a Criminal Organization

Capture a legendary pokémon

5. Trainer Perks:

Navigation (Always able to find where you are, good at foraging)

Chance Encounter (Luck when trying to find rare Pokémon - Or even when not trying to.)

Pokébag (Virtually bottomless bag, to fill with whatever the character may need and more!)

6. Misc Perks:

Normal: Able to toggle powers on and off if needed.

Ground: Has a comfy, nice aura. Hugs, cuddles and the like are nicer.

Steel: Better resistance to damage and pain.

7. Drawbacks:

Targetted - The foes of our hero pursue him as well, and as defeats mount up, they may send elite trainers to beat him.

Ornery Pokémon - One of our hero's Pokémon refuses to behave.

8. Companions and Rivals:

1 Trainer Rival

1 Trainer Companion

1 Gym Leader Rival (Sort of. Because of the period, there are no gyms or leagues. The Gym Leader is a minor noble that is surprisingly good at battling nonetheless.)

Introduction:

Galar, 15th century. Life is not easy for the people living in this region. On the mainland, two groups fight for supremacy over the crown, nicknamed the Wards and the Berts by the people, due to the names of their leaders. Prince Ljon, the only remaining member of the royal house, has been convinced by his trusted steward, Duke Rosso, to abdicate the throne to whoever wins over the other and live the rest of his days as a common man, instead of fighting to the bitter end for a crown he barely has any claim towards anymore. Southwards from Galar, lays in wait Queen Kalyrex of the Snow Tundra, a strange place where Pokémon are treated as equals (All but unseen in Galar on this time period, aside from a select kind individuals). The Queen seems to be waiting for the Galarian claimants to kill each other and invade the weakened realm. Passing the eastern sea, the Kalosian king is plotting to recover the lands that were taken from Kalos on a past war, and passing the western sea, an island only known as the Greater Isle of Armor by the people of the time seems to be unifying after centuries of internal strife, at a moment when Galar needs not more enemies.

Our hero is a knight of the crown, 22 years of age. He wished to join the military not to raise above his station or for bloodlust, but for justice's sake. He would like to give power back to the prince, as he was one of the few he saw as legitimate, or else to the people, as he thought the common folk deserved at least some say on how they should be governed. He would like to strike down the Wards and the Berts and jail them for insurrection, without bloodshed if possible. He would like to reach a compromise on the Kalosian issue, ally the Greater Islanders once they unified and fight glorious battle against the Tundrans, so that they may respect the Galarians and so perhaps, one day, both countries would be as one.

And yet, he had been tasked with something menial. A group of raiders, Team Skuta, had used the situation to rob and pillage unpunished. His mission was to take a pokémon with him and find the leader of Skuta, then make sure they gave no more trouble, no matter the cost. Still, it was a fair and just mission, only not as prestigious as he had hoped. He was content.

The following is a recollection of tales that have been made of this hero, based on rumors, legends and his recently found personal diary, during the war we now know as the Wars of the Roselias, and how his actions would change the course of history.

The historian opened the book, and let his mind start to wander...
